European Hurling & Camogie Championship Round 2

On 6th of June, Zürich played host to Round 2 of the Pan-European Camogie and Hurling Championship.

Players from across Switzerland came together to compete as Team Switzerland, bringing together alomost 40 players involved across multiple teams;

• Camogie team wearing blue and white Zürich jerseys (also joined by players from Paris Geals)

• Hurling A team, wearing green and orange Bern jerseys

• Hurling B team wearing blue and white Zürich jerseys

• Hurling C team (joined by players from France)

Team Switzerland had an incredibly successful day, with the Hurling A team triumphing in the Cup while our Camogie team secured the Shield. One of our own, Ray Murphy, deservedly claimed the Hurling MVP award.

After the action on the pitch was complete, players and supporters unwinded to the sounds of the wonderful Torann Mór Ceílí band. We were delighted to have Irish Ambassador to Switzerland Aoife McGarry present the trophies to the successful teams and players.
